Pa pa pathetic
But seeing how my rent is $390 a month, I don't really have the option of quiting. UNLESS I get back into my plasma donating habit.
Last semester I went to a new plasma center (my usual one closed) and set up my initial appointment. I was turned down because my blood pressure is always freakishly low. We're talking 80/55 here. So they told me to try again another time. I tried again, and did some wall sits before I went in. That time my blood pressure was high enough, but because I had just done physical activity my pulse was too high. So I gave up.
Now I have a whole new motivation for donating; plasma=no job=more sleep. I went to the gym at 7 this morning and worked out with Nicole. I went home, showered, ate a good breakfast, took my iron supplements since I'm always deficient (meaning I can't donate) and my vitamin C to help me absorb the iron, and then I headed to my appointment. My hematocrit was high enough, my blood pressure was high enough because of my work out, my pulse had lowered.
It turns out I was a little too excited to try and donate. I put too much pressure on the thought of donating once a week and quiting my job. So my pulse was RACING with my nerves.
No plasma donating for me, no quiting work, no sleep. :(

thank you stranger, way to make me feel good
He said, "I don't do this very often, but can I give you my number? You should text me sometime."
Spotted. He hadn't been looking for his friend at all. He just thought I was cute. And though I'll never text the kid, he made my night by thinking I was attractive while in Lobster uniform.

a moment to spare
I love nights like this.
Now it's Sunday and I'm preparing myself for the next week. Breathe and take everything one week at a time.

Happy New Year!
After a long hard night of work, I got home and got dressed up for my night's events. Sterling Hastings and I went to Brick Oven to get some din din, which was delicious. The kitchen messed up our order, so we got two free meals. Awesome.
I then returned to my new casa, and continued to organize my endless piles of stuff. Weasel came over because he was alone as well.
Here are some of the other resolutions I liked
After the party, I came back to my house, and wrote in my journal about this year. It's been amazing.
But now, I must push forward and make resolutions!
- Meet new people
- Have someone call me a sweet person
- lose 10 pounds by March 1st (so cliche, but really. Its gotta be done)
- Pray more often
- Attend all 3 hours of church EVERY WEEK
- Go to Arizona at least 4 times
- Do my laundry every week (whooa dream big)
What are your new year's resolutions?
Reflect over 2009
This has been a year full of change for me. Some of the biggest changes of my life I might say. I've been looking at pictures of the past year and so many memories come flooding in. Instead of bore you with pictures you've probably already seen, I'll make this simple.
A list of important events in 2009:
Kelsey Webster moved to Provo, and my desire for her to enjoy living in Utah overcame my desire to be an old lady and stay at home every night of the week. She brought me back into a social world
Ben Richard's left on his mission to Canada
Lindsey Barney joined Kels and I in Provo, and the three of us found a whole new group of friends. During this time, I experienced a huge change from being dreadfully pessimistic to the most positive person I know. I have started to recognize God's hand in all things, and learned that if it is His will, it is right.
I completed my journey at BYU with honors, and I already miss it dearly. I fell in love with that school.
I became an aunt to my beautiful babe Parker Nixon. I am in love with this child.
I moved back to Arizona for the summer, and expected to have a very quiet few months since I didn't have many more friends left there. Wrong again. I made a whole new group of friends who are so much fun and I feel like I've known them forever. We hung out pretty much every night this summer, and went to Mexico. I made my mark on them in "summer 09".
I moved back to Provo to start DENTAL HYGIENE SCHOOL. This is a big one. I knew within a week I had made the right decision and will enjoy practicing hygiene for many years to come.
I got a job. At a restaurant. And I can't believe it! In the past I've been pretty prideful because I've been blessed with such great jobs in Dental Offices. But I got this job and I realized I'm lucky to have it, and I love the people that work there.
I spent four whole months away from my family, and Becca and Bradley, and got homesick for the first time in my life. I miss them; it makes me sad to see how much goes on while I'm away.
So those were the most important events, but these are the most important things I've learned:
I need to practice what I preach. I give great advice, but rarely live it.
As long as I am proud of the choices I'm making, I am happy.
Keeping a positive attitude and having hope changes everything.
If I believe I can do something, I can and will do it.
I cannot force someone to change. The desire to change has to burn within them first.
Serving others can fix anything.
Happiness is a choice, and is within my grasp. Always.
This has been a great year. I've met so many people who have helped me change into who I am today. I've been tried and felt things that I didn't think I could live through, but here I am. Stronger than I was before. Goodbye 2009 Hello 2010
