does this look like the face of a criminal?

On Saturday I took Teddy shopping in Salt Lake for her birthday. It was all fun and games till I got pulled over for going 85 in a 65. Thank goodness I was wearing my sunhat though because I'm pretty sure that was the reason he only marked me down for going 10 over.
Best part: my ticket says "Ethnicity: U"

U stands for unknown. God bless America

Uncanny

How is it that I was thinking about paying rent, utilities, my Vegas trip, and Arizona trip, and wondering how I could make all of it work, when I got home to find this.

Again? This time I really don't know who it is. Before I had my suspicions but now I have no idea. If it is someone who knows me well, they obviously know that I have a hard time accepting big gestures from people. And if I knew who it was, I would send it back instead of keep it. But since there is no way for me to know where this mystery money came from, Thank You. You are too kind, and I'm grateful :)

insomnia

It's getting out of hand.
Last week, sleep from 3 to 6 on Monday.
Tuesday 4:30 to 7
Wednesday- no sleep. Study until time for school.
Thursday sleep from 4-5
Friday 5:30-8:30
Saturday 4-8:30.
So every night when I should look like this:I really look like this:
And I am angry because I'm exhausted and neeeeed sleep.

I wanna scream! But don't worry, when you are studying and taking pictures of yourself at 5 in the morning everything seems:
AO

K

I just took some sleeping pills and am praying they kick in any minute

Happy Birthday Arizona. Oh, and Happy V-Day too

First and foremost, today is Arizona's birthday. Now, I'm aware that I have been a Utah resident for three years now, but everyone knows I left my heart in AZ.
I know I'll always be an Arizonan because:
I used to save dental masks so I could grip the steering wheel in the summer.
My parents house is made of stucco and clay tile on the roof.
I used to run the air conditioner in the winter so I could use my fireplace.
I understand that QT is not just a gas station.
I think daylight savings is confusing and pointless.
My friends and I all stick together in Utah and are very proud of where we come from!
-
I love you Arizona!

On another note, today is Valentines Day. I've been working all weekend and the crowds have been insane. I'm also working tonight which is a bummer. I, being someone who isn't too fond of the holiday, am surprised by how many thoughtful people thought of me today! My mom send me a package, Ben sent me flowers, and I got cards from Carole, Grandma Marsha-Grandpa Nick, Callie, and some hand made valentines from the boys next door.

Living with 7 girls, there was bound to be a few sets of flowers on our table. I'm glad we are loved :)

Update on new years resolutions

On the 1st of the year, I made several resolutions and I think it's appropriate to recap, or else there was no point to making the resolutions.

#1 was to meet new people. I have made a couple new friends, and reconnected with some old ones, but I could do better.
#2 I am yet to have someone call me a "sweet person". It's gonna take some time.
#3 Lose 10 pounds by March 1st, I am well on my way :) 5 down, 5 to go.
#4 I have prayed more often :) and am blessed because of it
#5 I wanted to attend all 3 hours of church every week. I have failed. I made it to three hours one week, and only two hours the other weeks. But hey, 2 is better than 1!
#6 Go to Arizona at least 4 times. I booked my flight to come home March 11th for Ashley's wedding :)
#7 Do my laundry every week. YES I have done this! My laundry gets done every week, now it's just a matter of putting it all away.

So far 2010 is successful. My body is trying to tell me to slow down though, because I have major sleeping problems. I'm tired all day, and when it's time for bed at night I lay awake till 2 in the morning. And then when morning comes, my alarms don't wake me up. This is NOT like me!! So a new goal of mine is to try and get 6 hours of sleep every night. We'll see how it goes

all in good karma

Yesterday Teddy and I went to the gym. Teddy told me she was going to leave her purse in the car so I should lock it.
"Oh that's smart, I wanna leave mine in here too", I thought.
Just as I locked the door and slammed it shut my jaw dropped and my face was overcome with worry. I ran to catch up with Teddy.
"I locked both sets of keys in the car". Yep, both Teddy's key and my key locked securely in the car.

Long story short and many phone calls later, a nice man in the parking lot overheard my dilemma.
"Why don't you just call AAA?"
"Oh I'm not a member so I don't want to pay them to do it" I replied.
"Well I'm a member so I'll just pretend it's my car." And he did just that. 45 minutes waiting for the van to come and 1 minute to unlock my car, this guy was my hero.

As I was driving away I thought, good karma comes back around. Just the day before I had seen a paralyzed man at the gym starting to slide out of his wheel chair. As everyone walked passed him we made eye contact and I walked over to help. I lifted each of his legs and placed them back on the footrest and helped him scoot back in his chair. This story sounds a lot more reverent now then when I told Becca about it... she seemed to think me helping a paralyzed man was hilarious haha. Come on Becs, I'm a good person!

So next time you have an opportunity to help a stranger, doooo it! It will come back to you when you most need it

Someone loves me

Today was a pretty long day. I slept about 3 hours last night because I was cramming for a test today, that I did mediocre on. Just one of those long days.

I came home from school today, and Emily checked the mail. She handed me an envelope, looked something like this:

"Yuck it's a bill. I don't want it." I said as I opened it. I thought it was kind of strange that there was no return address.
I pulled out a tri-folded sheet of white paper. "Yep, it's a bill." I said to Emily.

I opened the top third. Blank. That's weird.

I opened the bottom third, and what do you know? It was a bill.

A $100 bill. The paper was blank. Unsigned. My address had been typed so I couldn't guess from the handwriting. Emily and I screamed and freaked out for a minute. I thought I might explode.
(Me about to explode).

I love the many blessings that are in my life. I love the power of paying tithing. I love having anonymous people who support me as a starving student. I don't know who it was, but thank you so much for being so kind!! I will use it wisely, and save it for my next "bill" that comes in the mail!

Perio test 1

"Oh I'm sorry Professor Denhalter, I didn't mean for my brain to explode all over the answer key."

I hope it was worth it and I didn't fail!
