Rodents not welcome

It all started a few nights ago, at 2:00 in the a.m. I was innocently typing away on my computer when I heard squeaking, followed by scratching. My skin started crawling at the unidentified noisemaker, so I started looking for it. I walked up to the window well (because I was in the basement) and what do you know, there is a GOPHER in the window.

Of course I screamed and made my mom and Marianne come downstairs to see it (they were drinking matte upstairs). We didn't know what to do, but Panda said I couldnt tell my dad or he would kill it. A few days and a few carrots later, we came up with a solution.

Preparing to catch the thing... Dad saying "this is serious" hahahha

We bought a trap, caught the thing, and set him free!!!!!!! haha. Run free!!!

My birthday was last week, and I found out that I have friends!

So now I'm 20 and I guess that means I'm a grown up or something. On my birthday, which was the 25th, my dad asked me how it feels to turn 20. I said "it feels like my body is finally biologically catching up with my brain cause I've felt this old since I was 5"

To start off my birthday, Becca and I went to the Richards' house to lay out and go swimming. Carole mixed us some drinks and hung out with us for a lil' bit. A few days before my birthday Carole and I got reflexology massages and she took me and David to lunch :)

Shortly following we went to a memorial day bbq at Aimee Johnsons house where we ate some mediocre-pushing gross veggie burgers. I promise, there are so many good meat substitutes but the "eat right" choice is terrible.

The girls at the BBQ

That night a bunch of us girls went to dinner at Gecko Grill! We were missing Lindsey Kaitlyn and Ashley because they were all out of town, but guess what? I filled a table of 10 girls for dinner! Yeah thats right, I have friends!!! Haha.

I love all of these girls, it made for a very happy birthday.

I am surrounded by excellent gift giving people who know me so well, and know just what I need :)
Becca surprised me with this beautiful jewelry box from Hawaii! I love it so much
New running shoes from my parents! They also spoiled me with new clothes that I've been getting a lot of use out of

Ben is STILL so thoughtful, even from another country. He sent me a package with new painting materials. Paint, brushes, canvas, and he also sent me an electric toothbrush. How does he know me so well?Ben also sent me these flowers, gerbera daisies. they're my favorite :)I'm so ready to use my gift certificate to a Nail salon from Allie. She is such a sweetheart

THANKS EVERYONE who made my 20th birthday a good one

to educate the world one poem at a time

i feel a need to educate myself, as well as others, on finer things than what's common. there is so much more to life than being simple minded.

i carry your heart with me by e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Cinco de Mayo party??

Party planning committee!

So I realized I never put up pictures from our Cinco de Mayo party, as promised. At the dollhouse we decided it would be fun to throw a lil' bash for the Mexican holiday. Chad and J.D. soon became major contributors to the party planning; in fact, our party would have flopped without their amazing Tiki bar.

Its 10 a.m. J.D. and Chad show up to the house with some lumbar and nails, and a drill. "What will they build" we all question. When they said they were making a Tiki bar, we all assumed it would resemble a chest height table. False. They built a MASTERPIECE and I was SOOO impressed!!

Our party was make complete with tons of food and mocktails. Yes, we made ALL VIRGIN margaritas with Taylor's new blender. Sal was a natural bar tender.

(yes those are virgin jello shots.)

We also had Monster pong. Just like beer pong, but less drunk.

Taylor and Kaitlyn, winning apparently.

I loved every bit of this party, good job everyone!

I've got friends in all the right places

Why my friends are the BEST friends, and things I'm going to miss when I leave Provo:

A million people can fit in a 2x2 foot space while we have movie marathons

We have going away parties all too often. MISS YOU RAND

They let me go out with them when I look like crap

Everyone is down to go to a park, sit in the sun, and jump over me while I study

We have girls nights, and eat WAY too much Spoon Me

We all share an equal love for my boy Zac Efron

I learn about all these new places in Provo, like freakin Maglebes

Everyone loves each other enough to wake up at 7 to go to breakfast

BONFIRES

We make ghetto style smores on the countertop when its too cold to go camping

I have the best friends, in all the right places.

Filling my time with nothing

Oh goodness. My life is so great right now. Since school ended on the 23rd of April, I have had no commitments. No school, no work. However, I have managed to fill my time these last few weeks and I've been SO busy!!

Lets start with moving out. Holy crap I've never been so tired or worn out in my life. I spend 2 and a half days straight moving. I slept for one hour at night... and cleaned more than I ever have before. Believe it or not I was kind of sad to leave my apartment. I know its really crappy, but it was home to me for two years! Goodbye room of 2 years!
It was really complicated moving stuff because I dont have a place to move into. I moved a bunch of stuff into Teddy's new apartment, and kept some things in my car. I'm living with Lindsey, Kelsey and Kaitlyn in this adorable yellow house.

Since my stuff was all over the place, I LOST MY KEYS. I went a whole week with no keys and no car. Lately I've had such an interesting frame of mind. Everything that happens to me that should make me sad/mad/upset/frustrated really just makes me laugh. My misfortunes are so funny to me, and I've learned to make the best out of poor situations.

Because my keys were lost for a whole week, I spent a lot of time riding my bike everywhere. I never realized how beautiful Provo is. I'm living in the cutest neighborhood, all of the houses are antique and the streets are lined with huge trees. The weather here has been so nice and I've really enjoyed being here :) I'm still having so much fun with my friends here that I'm kind of sad to leave Provo, but at the same time I'm so ready to go back to Arizona with Becca and my family.

I love my life so much. I love my circumstances, and I finally love Provo. Here are some reasons why:

Afternoon walks around the Provo library

I love that in Provo, it is completely acceptable and ordinary to see llama's on the street

Only in Provo will six of my cousins be able to come to Sunday Dinner at Grandma's

The lake is at a run's distance and the trail there is so pretty

I get to take my friends to the MTC :) Love you Brett!
